"Getting the right people in the room. Asking the right questions. And creating a shared view of reality quickly and early. These are the foundations for succeeding in any change or transformation initiative."
— Helgi Már Björgvinsson, Instructor
The EDGY Enterprise Scan Cohort is a new four-week course designed to equip you with the EDGY skills needed to better understand and design projects and initiatives. The focus is on quickly and easily creating clarity around the problem you are addressing and the prerequisites required for success.
This course is not about adopting a new framework or asking everyone to change how they work with change and transformation. Instead, it introduces a simple and immersive way of strengthening the approaches and frameworks you already use. With minimal effort, you will learn how to surface misalignment quickly, build a shared understanding of reality, and improve the quality of decisions before cost, momentum, and the general complexity of implementation take over.
By the end of the course, you will be able to give your initiatives the additional clarity and alignment needed to make more informed and enlightened decisions around scoping and design. The result is a higher and more consistent probability of success across projects.
The EDGY Enterprise Scan is a simple tool to improve understanding and alignment around your Enterprise Design challenge.
The Scan helps teams surface perspectives, assumptions, and dependencies that are often left implicit. It creates a shared view of the situation you are working in, before solutions are decided and commitments are made.
Applied holistically and in a structured way, the Enterprise Scan helps organisations address the complexity inherent in change and transformation initiatives. It better enables collaboration across roles and disciplines, and supports more informed conversations about what actually needs to change, and why.
By focusing on collective insights and understanding rather than opinions, the Scan enables teams to align around reality instead of assumptions. This makes disagreements more visible and easier to discuss, decisions more grounded, and initiatives better prepared to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Does this sound familiar? The initiative moved forward before everyone had the same understanding of the problem. Decisions were made based on partial perspectives. Misalignment only became visible once time, budget, and momentum were already committed.
The EDGY Enterprise Scan is here to help. By providing a simple and structured way of gathering perspectives across roles and disciplines, the Scan helps teams create a shared view of reality fast and easily. It ensures that important viewpoints are heard, assumptions are surfaced, and misalignments become visible before solutions are locked in. Rather than replacing existing ways of working, the Enterprise Scan strengthens them. It acts as a sensemaking layer across strategy, experience, organisation, and architecture, helping teams understand how different perspectives connect and where alignment or tension exists. The result is clearer conversations, better-informed decisions, and initiatives that move forward with greater confidence and consistency.
Session 1: Introduction and Shared Context
Meet the instructor and fellow participants, discover the course material and align on expectations.
Learn about why the Scan exists, problems it is designed to address, its potential outcomes and its limitations.
Session 2: Understanding the Enterprise Scan
Learn about the survey and the activity flow, how perspectives are gathered, and the basics related to working with the Enterprise Scan.
Session 3: Performing a Scan in Practice
Learn how to perform a Scan, how to facilitate reflection and discussion, and how to adapt the Scan to fit your organisation, initiative, or challenge.
Work brake
An extra week for participants to apply the Scan in real life.
Session 4: Reflection and Learning
Participants present their Scan experiences and outcomes. The session focuses on what worked, what was challenging, what insights emerged, and how the Scan can be used going forward. The emphasis is on shared learning, practical takeaways, and strengthening the ability to use the Scan consistently across initiatives.
Session 5: Course conclusion
Conclude the course, validate and celebrate your achievements.
Pre-work / homework
1-2 hours before sessions 1, 2 and 3. About 15-35 minutes of video content and contemplations.
The time for the personal assignment, expected to be completed after session 3 and delivered in session 4, depends on individual participants' ambition.
How to take a holistic view of initiatives, align stakeholders, communicate across silos, and support better funding and go / no-go decisions. How to surface and address gaps in shared understanding.
Change and transformation leads, programme managers, enterprise designers, strategists, architects, and product, service, or operational leaders. Senior leaders and budget holders benefit by sending people from these groups.
