A Data Hub powered by EDGY

Realizing a data hub as a one stop shop designed to facilitate the flow of data between producers and consumers (human and/or artificial), is on the bucket list of many enterprises in order to realize their (often mission critical) data use cases.

For one of the large federations in the Belgian social security, this became one of the cornerstones of a joint-venture IT initiative between its independent organizations. However, the complexity of this organization combined with a 40-year old application and data landscape, and the fact that each participant is allowed to pursue its own corporate strategy, offered great challenges.

This case study demonstrates how Enterprise Design and EDGY has been successful in helping to untangle this mess, more specifically by putting data in to a commonly understood context, allowing a data management framework to be tailored to the needs of all the stakeholders, and to assist in the design of the governance of a fit-for-purpose data architecture.
